Welcome

Welcome to the Runeshop. If this is your first visit then please take some time to browse the site.

I hope to be updating the site regularly as new course dates are agreed, and to keep you informed of upcoming events.

About me and the site

My name is Keith Healing (really) and I have been using runes for over 20 years. I started off using Ralph Blum's "Book of Runes", but fairly quickly realised that, although it was a lovely looking little set, it was horribly incorrect.

Part of the reason for getting this site up together was a desire to spread some truth regarding the runes, not only to disassociate them from Blum, but also to try and engender a degree of interest in a terribly neglected area of spirituality - namely Anglo-Saxon.

With the huge amount of literature currently available about the Celts and the interest in Far Eastern ideas our own, English brand of esoterica has been allowed to take a back seat, which is a shame as it forms the basis of Western European culture.

Unfortunately, the phrase "Anglo-Saxon" has come to mean something rather crass and racist. It is used by the likes of the BNP as a catch-all for what they think being 'English' is about. A quick perusal of history will reveal that this metality is as incorrect as it is repugnant.

I hope that the information on this site whets your appetite to either explore some of our history and traditions and, ultimately, to book yourself onto a course or two.
